local deal: roses

I had to share about this little flower shop I kept hearing about called Las Flores de la Carreta. Apparently there used to be a lady who would sell the most beautiful roses in front of the famous Cuban restaurant La Carreta. She eventually opened a small flower shop nearby on Bird Road. I heard about these famous roses a few times in conversation and decided to stop by over the weekend. I must say I am not the biggest fan of roses but after buying these and seeing how they bloom plus the color I am obsessed. And what makes it better is they sell each rose for $1 so you can buy 5 for $5 plus tax or the dozen for $12 plus tax. This picture only does partial justice to just how beautifully these roses opened up. They large, full and smell delicious! I also purchased 2 bunches of hydrangeas for $2 each and they are still looking great after 5 days.

chandelier

I was searching for the right chandelier for my work-in-process office. I had my eye on this cute one I found at Overstock.com. Twice it was sold out before I even had a chance to order it so seems to be a popular item for them. It worked out because during that time I bought a coupon from Livingsocial.com worth $20 (I paid $10). When it was available again I ordered it using my coupon. After being in a box for two weeks, I finally assembled it last night and my handy husband hung it up. It totally exceeded my expectations. It is the perfect size for the small room and has a nice sparkle to it. A little about me ... My name is Cecilia but my closest friends and family call me Ceci. I am a momma's girl like no other. I married an amazing man named Steve about 6 months ago in our hometown of Miami where we currently live.We purchased our first townhouse just over a year ago and are having so much fun making it our home. A few months after our wedding we adopted a little fella named Jake. He's a chocolate chihuahua that is very affectionate and funny. We totally have him spoiled rotten. So far we have done quite a bit of home renovations mostly on our own thanks to my very handy husband. I love shopping for  our home just as much as I do for myself. According to Steve, I just love shopping period! It's true I really do love it but I also love saving money. It can be tough for me considering I usually gravitate to the most expensive item on a shelve/rack. However, I've managed to find a happy medium where I could still get the things I like without leaving our bank account dry.  I'm the girl that uses a coupon for just about anything. So I will use this blog to share my findings and give some tips along the way. Of course there's more to me than shopping. Something I love more than shopping is to travel. So far I've been to Spain, Italy, Morocco, Turkey, Portugal, NY, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas and several Caribbean islands. I hope to see much, much more! I also love music, dogs, and Cuban coffee. Above all though, I am a girl that was raised with a lot of love and faith so I cannot fail to mention my LOVE for GOD. Everything I have is thanks to him.
